Chaamp, a Bengali-language sports drama film with a script written and produced by Dev and directed by Raj Chakraborty, served as Rukmini Maitra’s cinematic debut in 2017. It was released during Eid. She made her Bollywood debut in Kanishk Varma’s 2021 Hindi action thriller Sanak, which starred Vidyut Jammwal and her.

One of her upcoming movies is Binodini: Ekti Natir Upakhyan, a biography of Nati Binodini, also known as Binodini Dasi, who achieved popularity as a theatre performer in Bengal and is renowned for her innovations in the theatrical make-up style that combined European and Indian techniques. The movie is directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee and written by Priyanka Poddar. The main cast of the movie Binodini: Ekti Natir Upakhyan includes Rahul Bose, Rukmini Maitra, and Kaushik Ganguly.
