Celebrations abound in the film industry as the 53rd Kerala State Film Award 2022 announces its prestigious winners across various categories. This recognition highlights the exceptional talent and hard work of artists and filmmakers.

- Best Actor: Mammootty for his remarkable performance in “Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam“
- Best Actress: Vincy Aloshious, who left a lasting impact with her role in “Rekha“
- Best Director: Mahesh Narayanan, recognized for his exceptional direction in “Ariyippu”
- Best Movie: “Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam,” captivating the audience with its gripping narrative

Special Jury Awards were bestowed upon the talented Kunchacko Boban for “Nna Thaan Case Kodu” and Alencier Ley Lopez for “Appan,” recognizing their outstanding acting prowess. Additionally, Biswajith S and Rareesh were honored with the Special Jury Award for Direction.

The Best Children’s Movie was awarded to “Pallotty 90’s Kids,” captivating young audiences with its engaging storyline.
Kamal KM was recognized as the Best Story Writer for “Pada,” showcasing his exceptional storytelling skills.
For captivating the audience with popular appeal, “Nna Than Case Kodu” was awarded the Best Movie with Popular Appeal.
The music department was not forgotten, with M Jayachandran winning Best Music Director for “Pathonpathaam Noottaandu” and “Ayisha.” Mridula Warrier’s soulful rendition in “Mayilpeeli Ilakunnu Kanna” from “Pathonpathaam Noottaandu” earned her the Best Female Singer award, while Kapil Kapilan’s melodious voice in “Kanave” from “Pallotty 90’s Kids” won him the Best Male Singer award.
Shaji Kabir, as the Best Newcomer Director, was recognized for his exceptional work in “Ilaveezhaa Poonjira.”
