Tovino’s most awaited movie till date ‘Kalki’ which is a tribute nostalgia to action police movies. The plot revolves around Nanjankotta and the effect of parties and its power to rule on the area by defying all existing laws. The movie has a stellar cast of Samyuktha Menon, Saiju Kurup, Aparna Nair etc and packs a punch with high voltage performance from Tovino.
Director Praveen Prabhakaran has given a grand mass police movie to add with the old police movies of Mohanlal, Mammootty and Suresh Gopi. Kalki has the usual good vs evil theory and associated emotions and punch dialogues but makes sure to give a fresh intense feeling. Every frame, every dialogue and every minute makes sure to give the audience the thrill and goosebumps.
Tovino Thomas has done high octane action scenes with ease and did justice to the title of ‘Kalki’. Villain role is essayed by Shivajith Padmanabhan and he is one hell of a villain with his voice, action and style. Samyuktha does a fantastic job in the intense scenes and also as a fuming young lady. DOP by Goutham Shankar is praiseworthy for giving the brilliant feel of every frame to the audience. Performance of mature actors like KPAC Lalitha and Sudheesh is worth praising.
Music by Jakes Bejoy adds impetus to the flow of the movie with brilliant bgm and heart touching songs. Kali will surely join the list of best mass Police stories ever made in India cinema due to its total charm. As the makers said in an interview “Kalki is not a movie to put marks on performance, it’s an entertainment mass movie”, in that viewpoint Kalki is brilliant. Watch the movie to get the ultimate thrill and high on goosebumps, you will love the Kalki avatar for sure..!!!
