Summary:

Story:
Malti who is a 19-year-old student was a happy teenager. It turned bad when the Chhapaak ie (splash of acid) changed her life forever. Her life turns upside down and facing every insult she grows stronger. She founds an NGO for acid attack victims and also fights a legal battle against the acid attacker. She stays and becomes the forefront runner of all such girls suffering from the attack. Her bold and inspiring journey of fightback forms the crux of the story.
Plus Points:
Deepika Padukone has played brilliant skills in the movie as the acid attacked Malti. She effortlessly pulls up emotions and makes us happy and equally sad during various situations. 89 movie actress Deepika is the heart and soul of the movie. Broken but Beautiful 2 actor Vikrant Massey played an amazing role supporting Deepika.
Minus:
Few loose ends affect the movie experience. Malti’s father is an alcoholic is seen in a few emotional scenes but is completely unseen throughout other scenes. Same happens to her brother and he is hidden after a few scenes.
Technical Aspects:
Camera work by Malay Prakash is really impressive. He has taken great efforts in capturing the emotion, the intensity of the scene. Music by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy has been very impressive and immerses us in the emotion. Nitin Baid does amazing work with the perfect cuts and ensuring that film doesn’t lag and ensured to keep the message coming.
Verdict:
Chhapaak is one of the best movies from Bollywood and will be remembered among the top 10 movies of the decade. The characters stay with you even after moving out of the cinema hall and that’s the major success of the film. Its a must watch a movie with family and a bold and inspiring attempt from Bollywood.
