Bhagyanathan is a huge fan of MGR and has named his son Idhayakanni. Idhayakanni lives a simple life and is in love with Anjali. Thillainayagam, Anjali’s father, is a cunning minister and ruthless politician who aims to be the CM. He disapproves of his daughter’s match and tries to hurt the hero.
