Kalyani started out in the movie industry as an assistant production designer before making her acting debut in the Telugu movie Hello (2017). Varane Avashyamund directed by Anoop Sathyan was Kalyani’s first Malayalam movie. She has acted in many films in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam languages like Chitralahari, Varane Avashyamund, Maanaadu, and so on.
2022 witnessed three of her best roles in movies like Hridayam written and directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, Bro Daddy directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and Thallumaala directed by Khalid Rahman. Sesham Mikeil Fathima written and directed by Manu C Kumar is the upcoming project of Kalyani in which she is co-starring with Maala Parvathi and Femina George.
