Born in Kumbakonam, he was a bright student at school. He graduated from Bangalore University with a Bachelor of Engineering. His life changed when he decided to anchor an event in his college. Later he developed an interest in acting and direction. With more than 140 movies completed until now, he has acted in more than 5 languages.
Apart from acting, he is a show host, motivational speaker, writer and director. Recently he completed his 34 years in the acting industry with 100+ Kannada movies. He has written It’s No Fun without You and Khushyinda Ramesh and writes is newspaper columns at times.

His debut movie was Sundara Swapnangalu in Kannada which released in 1986. Later he debuted in Tamil with Manathil Uruthi Vendum and Telugu movie Indradhanassu. His Malayalam movie debut was Avan Ananthapadmanabhan and entered Bollywood with Mumbai Xpress.
The recent release of Ramesh Aravind is Shivaji Surathkal with Radhika Narayan which will release on 7 August 2020 in Zee5. Currently, he is shooting for Bhairadevi and 100 which will release by end of 2020. His acting career spans with 30 Tamil movies, 10 Telugu movies, 10+ Kannada movies and 1 each in Bollywood and Malayalam.
His first directorial was Rama Shama and Bhama which released in 2006. His major movies as a director are Uttama Vilain and remade Bollywood movie Queen in Tamil and Kannada. He is directing the move 100 which is the remake of Thiruttu Payale 2.
