Born in Ahmedabad, she had an interest in modelling and acting. During her young age, she was trained in Yoga and her teacher opened up her way for acting. Monal was working at ING Vysya Bank before starting her career at modelling.

She made her ramp debut at Mirchi Queen Bee contest and was titled the winner. Monal Gajjar won the Miss Gujarat. After becoming a star in the fashion circuit, she got back to back 5 movies and received a great response from the critics.

Her Telugu movie debut was through Sudigadu, which released in 2012. Later she acted in Vennela 1 1/2, Oka College Story, Brother of Bommali, Devdasi. Her Hindi debut was through Mai in 2013 and later acted in Kaagaz.

Sigaram Thodu was her Tamil movie debut in 2013. She also acted in Vanavarayan Vallavarayan. Her Malayalam debut was with horror thriller movie, Dracula in 2012.

Her Gujarathi movies are I Wish, Thai Jashe!, Aav Taru Kari Nakhu, Reva, Family Circus. She is currently awaiting the release of Vickida No Varghodo movie.
