Rani Mukherjee starrer Mardaani 2 trailer was released a couple of days ago and it received great response from the audience. It is the sequel to Rani Mukerji’s 2014 movie, Mardaani. The residents of Kota seems unhappy and have protested against the movie. Mardaani 2 has Rani Mukherjee as Shivani Shivaji Roy, who is on a mission to take on a rapist and killer from Kota City.
The trailer of the movie pointed out that the story is inspired by true events. Residents are in protest as they feel the city is shown in such a bad light and it affects them. Kota is a major centre for the coaching of engineering exams and medical entrance. The protesters need the name Kota to be replaced and OM Birla has taken up the issue on behalf of the residents.
He said “I will definitely discuss the issue with the people involved. The incidents in the film are based on fiction. So for such a story, taking the name of a city is not right. I will discuss with the makers and do the required.”
Rani Mukerji recently said that the movie has a social message and should be spread to the maximum. Mardaani 2 is directed by Gopi Puthran and will release worldwide on December 13, 2019.
