Bollywood is back on track with yet another biopic movie, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. The movie was one of the most expected films to be in packed cinema halls but has opted for online release. Along with Gulabo Sitabo and other movies, this movie will be streaming online. The gorgeous Janhvi will play the title role of IAF pilot Gunjan who became the pride of Indian women.
Its the story of a very ambitious and hardworking girl, who chose a profession known only for men. She became an Indian Airforce pilot and assisted the army in the Kargil War. From the house of Dharma Productions, the movie is a woman-centric movie as well as patriotic to its core. With amazing grit and courage, the woman duo became the inspiration of millions.
Janhvi Kapoor introduced Gunjan with her voice in a video with the photos of the real-life champion. The creators are excited to air the movie globally and break all global boundaries. The major tagline in the teaser was “Her journey was inspirational and went on to make history.” Major stars of Bollywood including Alia Bhatt, Arjun Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan shared the video on social media.
Daughter of late Sridevi is making it big in Bollywood with back to back movies. Earlier, she shared the photo of Gunjan Saxena and captioned “Happy Birthday to you mam. Thanks a lot for inspiring us and gave guts to the aspiring Indian women.” In 1999 Pilot Gunjan Saxena along with Srividya aided the army with Cheetah helicopters. This biopic details the efforts of both the women pilots.
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl cast includes Angad Bedi, Pankaj Tripathi, Vineet Kumar, Manav Vij in the major roles. The script is written by Sharan Sharma and Nikhil Mehrotra. Netflix India is yet to announce the release date of the movie.
