Tamil movies recently seem to be obsessed with the tag of ‘horror-comedy’ and Devi 2 directed by A.L Vijay adds up to the league. Devi 2 is the sequel of Devi which had Prabhu Deva and Tamannah and this outing ends up as below average hence, reaching nowhere near the range of prequel movie.
As said in the trailer its double trouble and Prabhu Deva is possessed by two spirits and how Tamannah deals with is actually explained in a poor manner. Devi 2 is set with the backdrop of Mauritius and the miserable storytelling and the weak script creates the downfall of the movie.
Devi 2 has Nandita and Dimple parallelly but ends up losing the plot and completely messes up so that, the events don’t seem real at all.RJ Balaji and Sonu Sood does somewhat digestible work in the small screen space they got and Kovai Sarala does yet another remarkable performance as usual. The poorly scripted multi starrer movie joins the list of poorly faired sequel movies to have happened in Tamil movie industry.
