Born in Hisar, Haryana she shifted to Kolkota and studied at Kendriya Vidyala School. She did her degree in Commerce from Symbiosis College, Pune. Her acting career has completed 16 years in 2020 and has acted in multiple languages, movies, serials and web series. Her other name is Barkha Bisht or Barkha Bisht Sengupta.

Her Bollywood debut was through Raajneeti in the role of a dancer in 2010. She acted in yet another item song in Dui Prithbi, which is a Bengali movie. Her entry in the acting role was in Ami Shubhash Bolchi which released in 2011. She made a mark with Raam Leela movie starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Other movies of the actress include Black, Action, Samrat & Co, Villain. Her noticed role was in PM Narendra Modi movie where she plays Jashodben in 2019.
